Founded in Guastalla by Vittorio Bertazzoni, Smeg is still owned and run by the same family — designing and building appliances that marry Italian craftsmanship with the great architecture studios of our time: Renzo Piano, Marc Newson, Guido Canali.

    Guastalla

    Vittorio Bertazzoni founds Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane in the Reggio Emilia countryside.

  2. 1956
    The first gas cooker

    Smeg becomes one of the first Italian manufacturers of free-standing gas ranges.

  3. 1970
    Built-in revolution

    The launch of the first fully integrated Italian dishwasher.

  4. 1997
    FAB is born

    The FAB28 refrigerator reintroduces the pastel silhouette of the 1950s — instantly iconic.

  5. 2013
    50's Style small appliances

    Kettle, toaster, stand mixer — the FAB language migrates to the countertop.

    Dolce & Gabbana

    “Sicily is my Love” — hand-painted majolica on kitchen sculpture.
